Sometimes clients ask me, "what is a good, fast way to get more people to visit my website?" There are a few options here, but I often respond with -- reviews!
Never underestimate the power of a good review -- be that a google review, a product testimonial, a case study -- all of these work effectively. Why? Because they tell your captive audience -- the audience that's already on your website or your Google My Business page, the same audience that's examining your website and primed to click the "purchase" button -- exactly why they should buy from you. Because someone else just like them bought your product or service and loved it. Reviews build trust. And when the only thing they can trust at the moment is the opinion of someone like them who bought from you recently and had a wonderful experience, they are going to rely on that opinion.
So, how do you get reviews? Simple. You ask for them. After someone has purchased your product or service, you politely ask them to review the product/service if they loved it. And ask for reviews even if they didn't love it -- that way you know what went wrong and can fix the problem. But if they did love it -- give them a few parameters. What specifically did they love about it? Did they work with a talented associate of your company? Was the product or service delivered quickly? Give them some guidelines and let them go for it. You can even incentivize them by giving them a coupon or discount for their next purchase if they submit a review -- making that brand love work even harder for you.
You can also ask for reviews by simply making a Google review link. You can share this link on your social media accounts, in email and SMS campaigns, customer surveys, and even printed collateral like receipts and feedback cards. For step-by-step instructions, read this guide to creating a Google review link.
Having customers post positive reviews to your Google My Business page will only serve to increase the positive traffic flow to your page and build consumer trust in your brand. Plus -- it doesn't cost a thing.
