The 6th Sense of Strategy

Let me share with you a little secret. Ready? You have a superpower. A superpower that you probably don't give enough credit to, yet it guides you daily. This incredible force is sometimes one that you may even voluntarily "turn off" if you're not 100% ready for its wisdom. This superpower is in fact, your gut instinct. It's an incredible way of knowing when something is just right for you or your business. It's a keen sense of what you should do when data or perhaps outside influences may be leading you in the opposite direction.

Let me give you an example. Sometimes I meet with clients who claim they are having a brand identity crisis. They are struggling with defining who they are and why they exist, or what products and services they should highlight to differentiate their brand. Sometimes it's even the determination if they should keep or remove an element of their business offerings. So...I start asking deeper questions to help uncover the truth, and then I help develop a plan of action for them. When I present this plan to them, I often find that my clients tell me that I'm a sort of mind reader (I'm not!) but that they have known all along that this is what they should be doing, that it feels "right" to them. They tell me they "had a feeling" about structuring their business a certain way, or perhaps adding a new business line extension felt "off" to them. These sparks of insight (or warning bells) are actually your intuition speaking to you directly, and it can be a powerful source for guiding you in making the best decisions for your brand and your business.

I absolutely believe in the power of data and analytics, and these should never be disregarded in the course of financial decisions. However, before you make any decision...consult your head and your heart. What does the data say? How do you really feel about that decision? What is your intuition telling you to do?

Once you start tapping into your very own superpower you'll find that your 6th sense is rarely wrong.
